New book written by Hello Lucky folks is amazing! At least 50 brilliant idea for your wedding or party of your choosing. Rarely can I say I love a book of this type but I can say "I love it" loud and clear!

Don't you just love a fresh blank journal? Anticipating making that first entry is rather exciting yet all that blank space can be a bit intimidating.
It may take a few moments but the best thing to do is just do it! I have several favorite jouranls here at the pickle and one of those favorites is the Moleskine. It has so much history, great paper and all the new colors are just the best.

New papers are coming in most every day. A wrapped gift in one of the pickle's beautiful papers is such treat to receive. You may think you can't wrap - yes you can! And if you need a little guidance just ask. A simple bow on a beautiful paper says I really really care!

Of course the 2011 calendars are long gone but we are looking forward to having 2012 as soon as they are available. Papaya's journals are rather personal in design and if you happen to be searching for a new journal I think one of the new ones from Papaya may be the one for you.

Amy Rice - new to the pickle!

You know I am a card snoot and am quite particular about the card lines coming into the pickle! Amy Rice's cards are being welcomed with open arms and I do hope as you see her cards you will feel the same. She is an amazing artist and although I have not met her personally I just know she is a nice person too. Her colors, images,and messages are nostalgic in a very pleasant sort of way.

Oh I can hardly wait for you to drop by and take a look at Amy's cards - I just know you will love 'em too!

"NEW FUN" coming to the pickle!

Retuning home today from market and I can hardly wait for the shipments to begin coming in. I think you all will be happy to see the "new fun" popping in over the next few weeks. New card lines, new glass things that will totally surprise you, of course ribbon, fun medals of honour, several new journals and the list goes on! I'll post as the "new fun" begins to come in to encourage you to drop by the pickle.

I am so excited about the new Love Letter Tags from Papaya! I have wanted these tags for years and finally the pickle has the tags; you're gonna love 'em! All the letters - A to Z - and a star and a heart complete the set;they have glitter and a ribbon for tying on packages or whatever. I can hardly wait for you to see them.

Valentine's Day is one of my favorites! Who doesn't love red and pink? The pickle has everything for your valentine from candy to glitter.

it's time to take time

Recently Crane & Co sent me a poster that is entitled "it's time to take time".
It's true don't you agree. Often times we are so busy being busy that we completely miss the "point". Let the coming week be the week you sit down and write just a little note to someone who has made a difference in your life and thank them. 'Cause it's time to take time!

The 3/50 Project

The 350 project may be a bit "old news" to you but just in case I would like to introduce it to you.
It is the brilliant idea of Cinda Baxter and I have been promoting it for sometime. It's a great idea and so important to all of us little independent businesses. Wont you please take a look?

Summer is here and quickly moving - in fact tomorrow is the birthday of our United States of America! Happy Birthday USA! There is so much to do so better get movin'. And I think FUN should be at the top of your list. If you have children please encourage them to be creative and at least active in some form. The pickle has lots sketch books with wonderful colored pencils to help along with darling stationery with the young in mind. Help your child write a letter to a grandparent or aunt, cousin or a friend and I promise you'll both be happy you did.

I'm here to do the "write" thing.

Cherries in the Wenatchee Valley

Over the weekend my husband and I visited my brother's cherrie orchard and OH MY are the cherries beautiful this year.

Another event last week was my birthday. And I did have cake along with glorious chocolate chip cookies Marnye sent via mail. I'm not sure where she found the recipe but she makes the best choc chip cookies I have ever eaten! You know birthdays are a blessing - don't forget!

ABC'S

I love the alphabet and the look of the latest window display at the pickle is one of my favorite. Who could not love the alphabet? Straight lines, curved lines, circles and ovals all just waiting to form a wonderful letter. Pickle Papers has metal letters, alphabet tags and the several alphabet papers for gift wrapping or whatever you choose.

My husband and I have just returned from Maui. Seven days in paradise-what a treat. Speaking of treats- our children gifted us the trip-can you believe it? The weather was fabulous and I was surprised by the warmth of the water (I do not like cold water!). For seven days we enjoyed the beautiful island traveling here and there. If you have not been to Hawaii be very nice to your children and maybe one day they will send you too.

WenatcheeTaste of the Harvest

How can it be? One month since last posting on my beloved pickle. Life has been hectic but I do hope it is beginning to calm. My favorite time of the year is now approaching and it is though I can take a deep breath for a moment or two and relax. Wenatchee, Washington has the most beautiful Fall season and if you have not had the pleasure of being here you must visit. Pears, apples, grapes all those wonderful fruits are quickly becoming available. And to celebrate, downtown Wenatchee will host Wenatchee Taste of the Harvest, September 20th. Saint John's Bible

As a scribe I am most interested in the Saint John's Bible. This has been a subject of interest for several years in the calligraphic world and now 100 pages are on display at the Tacoma Art Museum. The Bible is quite an undertaking directed by Mr. Donald Jackson of Wales, former scribe to Queen Elizabeth II. The Saint John's Bible is the first commissioned handwritten Bible in 500 years. The pages will be on display through Sept. 7. Handwritten and illluminated! Can you imagine?
